Job Post: Box Office Associate

Are you passionate about the performing arts? Mendocino Theatre Company is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join us as a second Box Office Associate. As a staff-level position, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our box office. If you have a flair for organization, excellent communication skills, good computer skills and a love for the theatre, we want to hear from you!

Position: Part-Time Box Office Associate

Hours: maximum 13 hours per week

Box Office Hours: Thursday, Friday – 1:00 – 7:30

Sunday – 11:00 – 2:00

Compensation: $16 per hour


Job Responsibilities

  1. Ticket Sales: Assist patrons in person and over the phone or Email, providing a warm and friendly experience while efficiently processing ticket sales for our productions.
  2. Customer Service: Interact with patrons, addressing inquiries, resolving ticketing issues, and providing information about performances and the theatre.
  3. Data Management: Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, customer information, subscriptions, and donations, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  4. Cash Handling: Handle cash, checks, credit card and check transactions, and reconcile daily sales reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative duties, including filing, organizing, and distributing materials as needed.

 

Requirements:

  1. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to handle ticket sales and database management efficiently.
  3. Effective communication skills, both verbal and writing, to interact with patrons, staff, and artists.
  4. Ability to maintain composure in a sometimes fast-paced, environment.
  5. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including familiarity with ticketing systems and databases (training will be provided).
  6. Flexibility in working evenings and weekends, based on the theatre’s production schedule.
  7. Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is a plus, but not required.
