A Green Space Players Youth Production
The Green Space Players is the name given to new educational theatre program for youth of the Mendocino Theatre Company (MTC). The program is under the administrative leadership of Lorry Lepaule, Director of Youth Programming. The program strives to encourage students in finding their creative voices through acting, playwriting and technical theater under the mentorship of experienced theatre artists.
Ms. Lepaule has been active in MTC since early 2002 and worked as a member of the MTC staff since 2014. She has participated as a main stage director, actor, organizer, and teacher as well as the director of numerous radio drama programs for KZYX. Joining Ms. Lepaule on the teaching team in 2023 will be theater professionals, Dan Kozloff and Sherry Glaser who will offer and curriculum of classes and workshop for youth.
In June of 2022, Green Space Players presented its first main stage production entitled Lockdown by Douglas Craven, which included performances and talk backs. In October of 2023, the Green Space Players will present its first full length play, Thornton Wilder’s classic American drama Our Town, on the MTC main stage.
We all know that something is eternal. And it ain’t houses and it ain’t names, and it ain’t earth, and it ain’t even the stars . . . everybody knows in their bones that something is eternal, and that something has to do with human beings.
