Our 2026 Season

Welcome to 50 years!! It’s quite an accomplishment for a Community theatre. With all the ups and downs, dramas, World Events, pandemics, recessions, inflation, and just plain attrition and time, it takes a thousand miracles to stay vital and exuberantly creative for 50 years. Congratulations are due to all who have tread these boards, lit the stage, painted scenery, worked the box office, costumed the actors, filed the paperwork, and directed the shows, without mentioning the myriad of jobs and tasks that go into making ninety minutes of engaging theatre.

While poring through the archives or the containers holding our scenery, or PAPA, where all the costumes are stored, occasionally one item will fall out and with it, the stories! “That was the shoe that dropped from the ceiling and hit … who was it … oh, I remember – good old what’s his name!” … and they’re off and running. In the telling of the story, you can feel the history, the lives, and the love that have built and fed this wonderful jewel of a theatre in the corner of Mendocino Village for 50 years. It’s the love and care and respect for the theatre that has sustained and built this community of ours. So let’s make this a year for telling the stories. Both on the stage and off. Listen in the lobby, listen in the market, listen from the heart.

This year will be a time of celebration, reflection, assessment, looking to the future, social events, and great shows. We have special events planned for all of us throughout the upcoming year, so please be sure to keep reading those emails and come into the theatre to check in on what’s new.

We all deserve a big round of applause

Alex Wright,
Producing Artistic Director
