Machrie Moor is a limited edition peated (14ppm) expression of Aran single malt. 1st release of 9,000 bottles with just 900 for Scotland & UK.

The bottle depicts Bran, favourite dog of the legendarywarrior Fingal who is said to have tethered the dog to the standing stone Fingal’s Cauldron Seat. One of the many stone circles and standing stones that are strewn across Machrie Moor on the Isle of Arran.

Arran

Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 to produce Arran malt whisky. Arran Distillery is situated just south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. Set in a stunning location between mountains and sea Arran is a small distillery is equipped with two stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery café. Arran malt whisky is matured in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts and Arran blended scotch. The Sleeping Warrior release comprises Arran single malt whisky matured in both European and American oak casks. Arran Machrie Moor is a peated expression of Arran malt whisky.

The nose is subtle and elusive initially. Hints of fudge, coconut & spice with a teasing touch of the glorious peat reek to follow. Palate - Classic Arran at first with notes of citrus, orchard fruits and cardamom spice mingling in a rich melting pot. At the back of the palate peat smoke finally emerges to whip up a storm.
