WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?

by Edward Albee; directed by Willo Hausman

September 14 to October 22, 201

One night. Four people. Two marriages. This classic American portrait of a tempest-tossed marriage returns to the Mendocino Theatre Company stage, a year after the playwright’s death. Gut-wrenching and visceral, this seminal work shows that Albee’s genius is as powerful and relevant today as it was fifty years ago.

George and Martha revel in the dissection of the truth and illusion that have kept them bound in their fiery marriage.

If you want a close second to the Irwin-Turner matchup, you can’t beat the current Mendocino Theatre Company production with seasoned coastal actors Mark Friedrich and Pamela W. Allen as George and Martha, the college professor and wife who host a much younger biology professor and spouse in a nearly all night drink-athon. Friedrich and Allen are more than ably supported by University of Northern Colorado alums Drew Simon and Emily Batterson as Nick and Honey. Willo Hausman has capably directed this outstanding cast.
